Marilyn S. Wasinger, 84, Hays, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2019, at Via Christi Village-Hays.
She was born Feb. 21, 1934, in Hays to Arthur and Emma (McCrary) Fury. She was a graduate of Palco High School.
She married Robert Rostocil in 1952. She later married Virgil Wasinger on Feb. 14, 1987.
She was active with the Humane Society and Hays Senior Center. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Hays.
She enjoyed crafting, crocheting, knitting, sewing and using her hands to make beautiful craft pieces.
Survivors include her husband, Willow House, Hays; two daughters, Cyd McElhaney and husband, Robert Blais, Anadarko, Okla., and Lynne Van Dyke, Zurich; three grandchildren, Evan and Benton McElhaney and Anna Bentley; and six great-grandchildren, Devin, Kade, Jason, Marshall, Ryan and Mason.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, followed by a service at 2 p.m., both at Brock’s-Keithley Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 2509 Vine, Hays, KS 67601. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Kansas Veterans’ Cemetery, WaKeeney.
Memorials are suggested to Humane Society of the High Plains, 2050 E. U.S. Highway 40, Hays, KS or Hays Senior Center, 2450 E. 8th St., Hays, KS 67601 in care of the funeral chapel.
