Clarence Joseph Suppes, 91, Otis, died Saturday, March 2, 2019, at his farm of 62 years.
He was born May 22, 1927, in rural Otis to Adam Suppes III, and Anna Maria “Mary” (Herrman) Suppes. He was a lifelong resident of Rush County, living 62 of those years at his current residence.
He married Mary Louise Freeman on Oct. 31, 1955, in McCracken. He was a farmer and rancher. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Loretto and St. Joseph Catholic Church, Liebenthal. He was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 2970, La Crosse.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Clarence David Suppes and wife, Traci, Great Bend, and Kelvin Joseph Suppes and wife, Cindy, La Crosse; two daughters, Mary Angela Bennett and husband, James, Great Bend, and Pamela Ann Tesch, Sterling; 15 grandchildren, Tasha Phillips, Lindsborg, Heather Suppes, Great Bend, Jacque Boor, Victoria, Michael Suppes, Great Bend, Joshua Suppes, Hays, Danielle Suppes, Edmond, Okla., Anna Flores, Andover, Stefan Bennett, Kansas City, Mo., Dyan Axman, Olathe, Clay Betts, Kansas City, Mo., Taylor Betts, Hays, Maria Tesch, Wichita, Angelica Tesch, El Dorado, and Adam Tesch and John Domanic Tesch, both of Hutchinson; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Julius Suppes and wife, Elsie, Otis, and Eugene Suppes and wife, Alma, Great Bend; and his dog, Heidi-Blue.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Anton Suppes, Reinhold Suppes, and Primus Suppes; and two sisters, Helen Schuckman, and Ruth Engel.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Shrine, Loretto; burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Loretto.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday with the family receiving friends from 6 to 7 p.m. at Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse.
A vigil/rosary will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
