Ronald Gene King , 77, Ellis, died Saturday, March 2, 2019, at Hays Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 10, 1942, in Hays to Clarence and Edna (Armbruster) King.
He married Marilyn L. Schoenberger on Nov. 30, 1963, in Ellis. She preceded him in death Dec. 6, 2010.
He was a lifelong farmer and rancher. He also worked as an automotive mechanic, custom harvester and builder.
He enjoyed racing, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include a son, Rodney King and wife, Colleen, Ellis; a daughter, Brenda Waring and husband, Steve, Hays; a sister, Roxanne Trimbath, Hemmet, Calif.; four grandchildren, Zach and Rhian Patterson, both of Hays, and Robbie King and Kaylee Kingsley and husband, Brandon, all of Ellis; and a great-grandson, Brenton Kingsley, Ellis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Paul Trimbath.
A celebration of his life will be at 7 p.m. and dinner at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at VFW, 2106 Vine, Hays.
Memorials are suggested to the family and will be designated at a later date in care of Rodney King.
