Catherine M. “Katie” Pfannenstiel, 89, Hays, died Friday, March 15, 2019, at Hays Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 25, 1929, in Walker to Henry and Clementine (Dreher) VonLintel. She was a 1947 graduate of Victoria High School.
She married Justin Pfannenstiel on Oct. 2, 1947, in Victoria. He preceded her in death March 12, 1999.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a 30 plus year member of the Daughters of Isabella.
She enjoyed playing cards, socializing with her friends and her grandchildren.
Survivors include a son, Steven Pfannenstiel and wife, Wanda, Hays; three daughters, Bonnie Ruder and husband, Terry, Kansas City, Kan., Jackie Creamer and husband, Duane, Hays, and Chris Minshew and husband, George, Houston; a sister, Joan Murta, St. Charles, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Lawrence, Norbert, Gilbert and Otto VonLintel; and a sister, Venita Wolf.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Church, Hays; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday and from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, both at Brock’s-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 2509 Vine, Hays, KS 67601.
A Daughters of Isabella rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday, followed by a vigil at 7 p.m., both at the funeral chapel.
Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Church in care of the funeral chapel.
