Arleen A. Wittman, 76, Hays, died Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at her home.

She was born June 17, 1942, in Pueblo, Colo., to John J. and Clara (Romme) Falkenstein. She grew up in Pueblo and was a 1960 graduate of Pueblo Girls Catholic High.

She married Wayne J. Wittman on June 5, 1965, in Pueblo. She was a bookkeeper at Hadley Hospital in Hays for over 20 years. She also worked at APAC of Hays, Midland Marketing of Hays and CASA of the High Plains. In 2007, she retired from High Plains Mental Health. After she retired she was a senior companion for seven years. She moved to Hays in 1965.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays.

Survivors include her husband, Wayne J. Wittman, of the home; a son, David Wittman, of the home.

She was preceded in by her parents; a brother, Leroy Falkenstein and wife, JoAnn; and a sister, Margaret Falkenstein.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic, Hays; burial in St. Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary of Hays, 1919 E. 22nd, Hays, KS 67601 and from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at the church.

A vigil/rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Hays Medical Center or First Call for Help in care of the mortuary.
