Grace Marguerite (Lesher) Glassman, 97, Hays, died Sunday, March 24, 2019.

She was born Sept. 14, 1921, in rural Natoma to Clyde and Jessie (McConchie) Lesher.
She married Eugene "Dusty" Glassman on Feb. 15, 1942. They celebrated 63 years of marriage until his death in 2005. As a graduate of Fort Hays State University with a bachelor's degree in home economics and two master's degrees in education, she began her college career at the age of 40, while raising her family and working at the Marian High School library.  She was a learning disabilities teacher for the Palco/Damar schools until her retirement at age 75. During her retirement years, she managed several rental properties from 1994 until she moved in with her daughter and son-in-law six years ago.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church,  Daughters of the American Revolution and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.

Survivors include a son, Stephen Glassman, Edgewater, Fla.; a daughter, Martha Lang and husband, Donald, Hays; a daughter-in-law, Linda Query and husband, Roland, Firestone, Colo.; nine grandchildren, Elise Glassman, Lynn Krestel, Jill de la Pierce, Jude Lang, Jessica Lang, Jeffrey Lang, Kim Burdett, Kelli Geier and Kendra Glassman; seven great-grandchildren, Bethany, Jayme, Logan, Andrew, Samantha, Aiden, and Bane; and four half-sibilings, Ruth Taylor, Naomi Brumfield, John Lesher, and Myra Lock.

She was preceded in death by a son, Philip "Dugie" Glassman; and a daughter, Mary Elise Milene. 

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays; burial  in Mount Allen Cemetery, Hays.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday, both at Brock’s-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 2509 Vine, Hays, KS 67601.

A vigil will be at 6:15 p.m.  Wednesday, followed by a VFW Auxiliary Memorial and rosary, all at the funeral chapel
