Thomas Lee Charles Rupp, 69, Russell, died Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at Hays Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 23, 1950, in Hays to Edward and Leonilla (Schmidt) Rupp.
He married Jeanie Seib on Dec. 9, 1989. He worked for the Russell County Road and Bridge Department. He had worked for APAC for 27 years as a heavy equipment operator and he was a past fire chief in Pleasantview, Colo.
He enjoyed woodworking, guns and mechanic work.
Survivors include his wife, Russell; a son, Eric T. Rupp, Colorado; a daughter, Michelle Wheeler and husband, Joseph, Colorado; two stepsons, Greg Schaffer and wife, Am,y and Brian Schaffer and wife, Jennifer, all of Hays; a stepdaughter, Sonya Schaffer, Amarillo, Texas; two brothers, Norman and Edward Rupp, both of Hays; two sisters, Sandy Cantu, Trinidad, Colo., and Pamela Russell, Dodge City; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Brock's-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 2509 Vine, Hays, KS 67601.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 1:30 p.m. until time of service Saturday, both at the funeral chapel.
