Gerald Lee Rohleder, 66, Omaha, Neb., died Friday, May 10, 2019, at Bergan Mercy Hospital, Omaha.

He was born July 25, 1952, in Hays to Alvin and Anita (Meier) Rohleder. He was a 1970 graduate of St. Joseph Military Academy and a 1974 graduate of Fort Hays College with a bachelor’s degree.

He married Marie Pfeifer on Aug. 4, 1973. He spent over 42 years at Mutual of Omaha as a senior technical solutions architect where he continued to work until his passing. In addition, he spent over 20 years as a computer science educator at various schools throughout the Omaha area.

He enjoyed his family, teaching, sharing his knowledge of technology, laughter, gardening, Clint Eastwood, oatmeal cream pies, cherry mash candies and especially being a grandfather.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Jennifer; his son-in-law, Benjamin Puetz,; a grandson, Cameron; a granddaughter, Winter; his mother, Anita Rohleder, Hays; a sister, Debbie (Rohleder) Hensch; and brother-in-law, Duane Hensch, Wichita.

He was proceeded in death by his father.

A private Mass and dinner Saturday will be for immediate and extended family.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Bethany Funeral Home, LaVista, Neb.
