Edwin "Eddie" Dreher, 86, Plainville, died Friday, May 31, 2019, in Plainville.
He was born Aug. 14, 1932, in Schoenchen to Joseph C. and Philomena (Klaus) Dreher.
He was married Caroline Jacobs on Aug. 6, 1951. She preceded him in death. He was a jack of many trades. He was 17 years old when he moved to Plainville. He worked for Floyd Kelly. He worked at C&W Machine shop for 10 years. He also worked as a roughneck and pumper in the oil field for 40 years.
He was president of the Senior Center for 15 years. He enjoyed going on trips. He bragged about all the places he had been and all the new friends he made. One of his favorite things to do was go to sporting events. He received fan of the year for the Cardinals two times. He was very proud of that honor. He always had stories to tell.
He was a member of the Plainville Knights of Columbus for many years.
Survivors include three sons, Ed Dreher, Jr. and wife, Evangeline, Plainville, Frank Dreher and wife, Katrina, Corpus Christi, and Joe Dreher and wife, Melissa, Oberlin; a daughter, Carol Sue Rozean, Hays; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Dreher, Hays; two brothers, Walter Dreher, Topeka and Irvin Dreher, Hays; two sisters, Rosine Rohr, Garden City, and Lillian Van House, Andover; 10 grandchildren, Amanda Meyers, Travis Rozean, Shanna Vanalstine, Nichole Berry, Kyle Dreher, Jamie Grooms, Nola Bridgens, Jameson Dreher, Jordan and Dayton Dreher; and 23 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Rick Dreher; a son-in-law, Doug Rozean; a grandchild, Jessica Dreher; four brothers, Alex Dreher, Vic Dreher, Norbert Dreher and Ernest Dreher; and four sisters, Marcella Herrman, Albertine Haselhorst, Angie Herrman and Agnes Spies.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Plainville; burial in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the church.
A combined Knights of Columbus rosary and vigil will be 7 p.m. Monday at the church.
Brock's-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 2509 Vine, Hays, KS 67601, is in charge of arrangements.
