Eugene “Gene" Ray Larson, 71, died Tuesday, June 18, 2019, in Salina.

He was born Sept. 18, 1947, in Clay Center to Earl and Edna (Koerner) Larson.

He enjoyed careers in law enforcement, insurance planning, commercial trucking, and worked in the meat market at Fort Riley Commissary. He was a U.S. Navy veteran where he served two tours in Vietnam.

Survivors include his wife, Genevieve “Jenny”; four daughters, Amy Ford, Macksville, Tina Tinkel, Hays, Becky Racette, Bennington, and Valerie Weber, Chapman; a brother, Ronald Larson, Wakefield; a sister, Joyce Elsasser, Wakefield; and nine grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Londeen Funeral Home, Chapman; burial will be at 1 p.m. in Kansas Veteran’s Cemetery, Manhattan.

Family will receive visitors from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
