Marilea JoAnne (Johnson) Beougher, 84 , Grainfield, died Sunday, June 23, 2019, at Hays Medical Center.

She was born Nov. 25, 1934, in Gove to Delbert Axel Sr. and B. Mildred (Marshall) Johnson. She was a 1952 graduate of Gove Rural High School and a 1956 graduate of Fort Hays Kansas State College, receiving her bachelor of arts degree in business education.

She married Marvin Beougher on Feb. 12, 1956, in Gove. She was a teacher for a total of 33 years in the Quinter, Grainfield, Gove, and Wheatland school districts.

Survivors include her husband; a son Marlin Beougher, Hoxie; a daughter, Marvel Blank, Valley Center; a brother, Delbert Axel Jr. Johnson, Newton; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Grainfield United Methodist Church, Grainfield; burial in Gove City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Schmitt Funeral Home, Quinter.

Memorials are suggested to Grainfield United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
