David Bruce Grabbe, 63, died Sunday, June 30, 2019, at Methodist Hospice in Memphis, Tenn.

He was born March 3, 1956, in Hays to Clarence and Lillian (Coupal) Grabbe. He attended Thomas More Prep-Marian. 

He married Kathryn Gentleman on July 18, 1981, in Hays. Over the next 37 years of marriage they moved several times around the Midwest with his career in the aviation field. After many moves, they moved to Kansas City. He continued his career in aviation with Federal Express, taking the family to Memphis and later Indianapolis where their children would grow up.

He was an avid golfer, car enthusiast, photographer and lover of dogs. Several of his photographs were published in numerous magazines over the years.

Survivors include his wife, Southaven, Miss.; a son, Cody Grabbe and son-in-law, Josh Harraman, Metuchen, N.J.; a daughter, Kailee Koehler and son-in-law, Benjamin, Brownsburg, Ind.; two brothers, Wayne Grabbe and wife, Judy, and Richard Grabbe and wife, Cheryl; four sisters, Frances Gordon and husband, Jim, Donna Farrell and husband, Bob, Pat Newell and husband, Leroy, and Lorri Leibbrandt and husband, Doug; a sister-in-law, Sharon Keister and husband, Rex; and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Marian Warfel and husband, Sam; his parents; and in-laws, Lawrence and Betty Gentleman.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Graceland Christian Church, Southaven, Miss.

With many of his family members living in Kansas, a celebration of life will be held there at a future date this fall.
