William Robert “Bob” Stutz, 86, died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2019, at Grisell Memorial Hospital, Ransom.
He was born Sept. 29, 1932, near Utica to W. V. and Elma (Weber) Stutz. He was a graduate of Utica High School and K-State.
He married Patricia Ann Hill on Feb. 6, 1955, in Carthage, Mo. She preceded him in death August 27, 2014. They resided near Utica where he was a rancher/farmer. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was a member of Utica First Christian Church, active as a 4-H leader and member of the Masonic Lodge. Music was a major part of his life. While in Missouri he sang bass in choirs and with the quartet “Fishers.” He participated in and supported many area music events.
Survivors include two sons, William R. Stutz, Jr. and wife, Lynne, Kingman, and Greg Stutz and wife, Michelle, Weatherford, Texas; three daughters, Cheryl Stutz, St. Joseph, Mo., Joy Hembree and husband, Steve, Great Bend, and Melody Stutz, of the home; a half-sister, Gwendolyn Salmans and husband, Walt, Hanston; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and three sisters.
A celebration of life will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Utica First Christian Church. Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.
