Julius P. Bollig, 92, WaKeeney, died Friday, Aug. 23, 2019, at Trego County-Lemke Memorial Hospital, WaKeeney.
He was born Oct. 26, 1926, in Ellis to Jacob and Anna Marie (Graf) Bollig. He was a 1945 graduate of Trego Community High School.
He married Christina Bongartz on Nov. 9, 1948. He was a farmer. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, of the family home; two sons, Delbert and Douglas, both of WaKeeney; three daughters, Cynthia Presley, Tonganoxie, Germaine Taggart, Hays, and Laraine Mohler , WaKeeney; two sisters, Loretta Billinger, and Armella Mangels;13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Christ the King Catholic Church, WaKeeney; burial in Kansas Veterans' Cemetery with military honors by Fort Riley Honor Guard.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Schmitt Funeral Home, WaKeeney.
A vigil will follow the visitation Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to VFW Post 3449, Christ the King Catholic Church Building Fund, or Masses, in care of the funeral home.
