Stanley Harold Hoss, 92, died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2019, at Cedar Village, Ness City.

He was born Jan. 9, 1927, in Ness County to Henry and Mary (Fehrenbach) Hoss. He was a graduate of Ness City High School.

He married Margaret O’Brien on Aug. 18, 1947. She preceded him in death July 17, 1999. He later married LaVone Dutoit Richardson on Nov. 25, 2000. He was a farmer and rancher. He was employed by Cheyenne Oil and the Right Coop in Ness City, he drove busses for USD 303 and owner of Hoss BBQ,

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Don and wife, Rayetta, and Hal and wife, Wendy, all of Ness City, and Tim and wife, Rhonda, Pratt; seven daughters, Peggy Bain, Sandy Reinert and husband, David, Cindy Hawkinson and husband, Jay, all of Ness City, Mari Ann O’Neill and husband, Steve, Brighton, Colo., Marlinda Henry and husband LD, Ensign, Debbie Mitchell and husband, Rusty, Meriden, and Janet Dennis and husband, Ken, Dighton; and a stepdaughter, Carol Richardson.

He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Ron Depperschmidt; a stepson, Terry Richardson; three brothers, Bernard, George, and Jerome; and a sister, Agnes Beck.

Services were Aug. 26 at Sacred Heart Church, Ness City; burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Sacred Heart School, Horse Thief Reservoir, or donor’s choice.
