Carma Lea Chrisler, 58, Hays, died Monday, Oct. 7, 2019, at her home.

She was born Sept. 24, 1961, in Hays to James E. and Theresa (Dinkel) Giebler. She grew up in Hays and was a 1979 graduate of Hays High School and attended Emporia State University. She played volleyball and basketball in high school and college.

She married Chris Chrisler on Nov. 13, 1982, in Hays. She was a histotechnologist for Quest Laboratory in Hays for 38 years starting at Hays Pathology Laboratory.

She enjoyed collecting antiques and Coca-Cola items, fishing, the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals, KU basketball, trips with her sisters and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband, of the home; two sons, Brady Vitztum-Chrisler and husband, Lucas, Lenexa, and Brett Chrisler, Lawrence; a daughter, Bailee Chrisler, Hays; three brothers, Greg Giebler and wife, Laura, Esterville, Iowa, Steve Giebler and wife, Debbie, Great Bend, and James A. Giebler and wife, Stacy, Westerville, Ohio; four sisters, Sheila Neuburger, Lawrence, Pam Diehl and husband, Steve, Wichita, Rebecca Deatherage and husband, David, Russell, and Deborah Fall and husband, Scott, Hays; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dale and Jean Chrisler, Oakley.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays.

Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Thursday at Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary of Hays, 1919 E. 22nd, Hays, KS 67601.

A vigil/ rosary will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Hays Medical Center or Dreiling Schmidt Cancer Center, in care of the mortuary.
