Karl Albert Newacheck, 87, Russell, died Monday, Oct. 14, 2019.

He was born Nov. 17, 1931, in Russell to Karl Clarence and Amalia (Mollie) Strecker Newacheck. He was a 1949 graduate of Russell High School and attended Bethany College for two years.

He married Marlene Ronningen on June 12,1960. She preceded him in death April 25, 1988. He later married Louise Dreher on Sept. 12, 1992. She preceded him in death Dec. 14, 2007. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

Survivors include three sons, Tim Newacheck, Baldwin City, David Newacheck, Waldo, and Scott Newacheck, Russell; a daughter, Tami Thompson, Salina; two stepdaughters, Lois Sellers and Carol Trapp; seven grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and eight step-great-grandchildren.

Services will be ate 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, Russell; burial in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Russell, with military honors performed by Russell Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 6240.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday with family greeting guests from 3 to 5 p.m. at the mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to Big Creek Veterinary Clinic in care of the mortuary.
