Melinda Jean Sporing, 60, Colby, died Monday, Nov. 18, 2019, at Hays Medical Center.

She was born Sept. 3, 1959, in Denver to Luke Steinman Jr. and Wilda Jean (Chinn) Steinman.

She married Ronald D. Sporing on Oct. 15, 1982, in Yuma, Colo. They lived between Goodland, Denver, and parts of Eastern Colorado before settling in Haxtun, Colo., for 25 years. They then lived on farms near Holyoke, Colo., and Imperial, Neb., before moving to Colby in March of 2019. In addition to caring for the many family members and friends that came into her life she was a paraeducator assisting those with special needs.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Kenneth Holiman and wife, Sheryle, Windsor, Colo., Robert Steinman and wife, Faustina, Lincoln, Neb., and Ronald Sporing, Colby; two daughters, Mindy Machlan, Denver, and Jensina Sporing, Colby; her mother, Wilda Jean Benson, Haxtun; two brothers, Dan Steinman, Camarillo, Calif., and Mark Steinman, Omaha, Neb.; a sister, Kim Steinman, Emerson, Iowa; 19 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her father; a son, Curtis Sporing; a brother, Robert Dean Steinman; and a sister-in-law, Cheryl Steinman.

A private family memorial service and inurnment will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to Ronald D. Sporing Family.
