Francis Joseph Fisher, 89, Hays, died Monday, Nov. 25, 2019, at Via Christi Village, Hays.

He was born April 23, 1930, in Hays to Zacheus and Monica (Rupp) Fisher.

He married Josephine Giebler on June 15, 1950, in Ellis. He was a long time custodian and maintenance man for Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and school and owned Fisher TV Repair.

He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, IHMC council 3rd degree Knights of Columbus and Ellis Council 4th degree K of C.

He enjoyed playing cards, golf and horseshoes.

Survivors include his wife, Hays; four sons, Francis Fisher Jr. and wife, Linda, Hays, Gerald Fisher and wife, Brenda, Hominy, Okla., Kenneth Fisher and wife, Jodie, St. Louis, Mo., and Mark Fisher and wife, Melanie, Hays; seven daughters, Patricia Arias, Broken Arrow, Okla., Cynthia Lang and husband, Floyd, Mountain Home, Ark., Pamela McCormack, Marysville, Wanda Staab and husband, Lee, Larkspur, Colo., Sheila Goodwin and husband, James, Henderson, Nev., Laura Smull and Donna Cape and husband, Alex, all of Great Bend; two brothers, Victor Fisher and Cyril Fisher, both of Hays; a sister, Delores Pfannenstiel, Hays; 30 grandchildren; and 51 great-grandchildren.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, Jimmy Arias; three brothers, Edwin, Alvin, and Ralph Fisher; and three sisters, Agnes Waldschmidt, Georgina Jacobs and Rita Mae Giebler.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Hays; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday with an Ellis Council 4th Degree rosary at 6:30 p.m., followed by a vigil at 7 p.m., all at Brock's-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 2509 Vine, Hays, KS 67601.

Memorials are suggested to IHMC Building Fund or donor’s choice in care of the funeral chapel.
