Robert “Bob” Burl Harris, 74, Great Bend, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2019, at his home in Great Bend.
He was born Sept. 19, 1945, in Claremore, Okla., to Bural Lee and Anita (Record) Harris.
He married Carol Yvonne Demanett on Jan. 28, 1962, in Plainville. She preceded him in death March 23, 2008. He later married Gailya (Rice) Crawford on Aug. 8, 2019, in Great Bend. Coming from Plainville in 1969, he continued to work in the oil servicing industry his entire career and in 1994 became the general manager for Kansas Acid. He continued his employment there to present.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, NRA, Eagle Lodge and API. He enjoyed July 4th and was an avid antique gun collector and actively competing in Cowboy Action Shooting competitions.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; three sons, Bob Harris and wife, Kayci, Great Bend, Rick Harris and wife, Ginny, Leawood, and Brad Harris, Bartlesville, Okla.; two brothers, Tom Harris, Great Bend, and Jerald Harris, Topeka; three sisters, Jacque Meitler, Glenwood Springs, Colo., Patty Harris, Wichita, and Dorothy Schmidt, Denver; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carol; and a brother, Kenny Harris.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday with family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend.
Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church in care of the funeral home.
