Louis G. Luetters, 83, Ransom, died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2019, in Hays.
He was born Sept. 13, 1936, in southern Trego County to Francis and Josephine (Hilmes) Luetters. He was a graduate of Ransom High School.
He married Marcile Andres on Nov. 22, 1960, in Ransom. He was a cattleman and enjoyed working with livestock.
He was a member and past president of the Ransom Farmers Coop, St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Ransom and a 3rd degree Ransom council 2352 Knights of Columbus member. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving for two years.
Survivors include his wife, Ransom; three sons, David Luetters and wife, Carol, Garden City, Duane Luetters and wife, Tari, Ransom, and Daniel Luetters and wife, Kristi, Hays; three brothers, John Luetters and wife, Willa Sue, Hutchinson, Gene Luetters and wife, Claudia, Salina, and Jerome Luetters and wife, Marilyn, Hays; four sisters, Rozanne Veeder, Dodge City, Janice Houdshell and husband, Wayne, Dodge City, Carolyn Maska and husband, Jake, Hays, and Linda Hess and husband, Dennis, Great Bend; seven grandchildren, Kyle Luetters, Rebecca Netherton, Dustin Luetters, Jody Reynolds, Ashlyn Luetters, Luke Luetters and Brett Luetters; and five great-grandchildren, Ben and Maeve Netherton, Nora Luetters, and Paisley and Cooper Luetters.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Vernon Luetters and Thomas Luetters and wife, Ruth; a brother-in-law, Merton Veeder; and a sister-in-law, Judy Luetters.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Ransom; private family inurnment will be at a later date.
A Ransom Knights of Columbus rosary will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.
