John W. “JW” Jaco, Jr., 62, Great Bend, formerly of Wichita, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2020, at his home.
He was born Jan. 26, 1957, in Wichita, to John W. Jaco, Sr. and Dorothy Ruth (Miller) Jaco.
He was the owner and operator of John Jaco, Inc.
He was a member of the Barton County Sheriff's Office Reserves since 1985, serving as special deputy sheriff and served on the board for Barton County Crimestoppers. In the 1990's he was on the Barton county SWAT team.
He enjoyed team roping, his llamas and horses, bird hunting and was one tough cowboy. He was an avid weight lifter and gun enthusiast.
Survivors include, an uncle, Gene Jaco and wife, Phyllis, Plainville; three cousins, Michael Jaco, Springfield, Colo., Jana Kuhn and husband, Raymond, Overland Park, and Jill Brin and husband, Mark, Godley, Texas; his companion, Rene Tiede; and daughter of the heart, Shanna Tiede-Long.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend; inurnment in Great Bend Cemetery.
There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.
Memorials are suggested to Barton County Sheriff's Reserves Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
