Kenneth “Ken” J. Schaffer, 66, Hoxie, died Friday, Jan. 17, 2020, at University of Colorado Hospital, Denver.

He was born Jan. 1, 1954, in Hoxie to William “Bill” and Marie A. (Albers) Schaffer.

He married Glenda (Plummer) Schaffer on Dec. 3, 1977, in Menlo. He was a retired farmer and rancher.

Survivors include his wife, of the home in Hoxie; a son, Travis Schaffer, Hoxie; a stepson, J.R. Behan, Topeka; a daughter, Stacey Brown, Hoxie; a stepdaughter, Heather Holt, Wichita; a brother, Will Schaffer, Hoxie; two sisters, Kathy Collins, Goodland, and Karla Olson, Hoxie; five grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Hoxie; burial in St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Cemetery. Past State Presidents of The Kansas Elks Association will do a graveside service.

Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday with family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home, Hoxie.

A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Sheridan County Benefit Walk, Sheridan County EMS, St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church or KETCH, in care of the funeral home.
