Gil Carreiro Chambray, 79, Natoma, died Monday, Jan. 27, 2020.

He was born Oct. 14, 1940, in the city of Arrifes, St. Miguel, Acores, Portugal to Maria Moniz and Antonio Carriero.

He married Isaura Maria De Melo Vieira on June 28, 1962, in Bermuda. He was a chief pump engineer at the Corporation for the City of Hamilton until his retirement in 2010.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Natoma; a son, David, Natoma; a brother, Victor Chambray, Vancouver, BC, Canada; and two grandchildren.

He was preceeded in death by an infant daughter, Linda Marie; and a stillborn son.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Plainville; burial in Natoma City Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Natoma High School Athletics Fund, in care of Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, Russell.
