Charles K. “Chuck” Sproul, 73, Hays, died Friday, Jan. 31, 2020, at his home.

He was born June 15, 1946, in Coffeyville to James and Ruby (Ninemire) Sproul.

He married Virginia L. “Gina” Keller on Aug.28, 1965, in Ellis, and celebrated over 54 years of marriage. He was a farmer, worked for Ellis County Feeders and was a roustabout in the oilfield.

He enjoyed racing, hunting, welding, carpentry, and was a jack-of-all-trades who enjoyed tinkering and building things. He and his wife enjoyed dancing, family, grandsons, granddogs and animals.

Survivors include his wife; of the home; two sons;, Kenny Sproul and wife, Jodi, and Chad Sproul and wife, Jennifer, all of Hays; a daughter, Deana Sproul, Ellis; two brothers, Earl Myers and wife, Cheryl, Mountainburg, Ark., and John Munstermann and wife, Shelley, Lincoln, Neb.; and two grandsons, Dakota Sproul and girlfriend, Kaitlyn Richmeier, Hays, and Dawson Sproul, Stanford, Calif.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1906 Pine, Hays, KS 67601. Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until time of service Saturday at the chapel.

Memorials are suggested to Humane Society of the High Plains or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, in care of the funeral chapel.
