Alden B. Miner, 102, died Wednesday, April 1, 2020, at Cedar Village Care Center, Ness City.
He was born April 1, 1918, in Ness City to Percy and Mildred (Borthwick) Miner.
He married Gwendolyn L. Lee on May 28, 1942, in Las Vegas. She preceded him in death March 12, 2016. One of the many things they enjoyed was traveling the world together.
He was an abstractor and owner of Miner Brothers, a firm that had been in existence since 1885.
He was a U.S. veteran serving during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a pilot and enjoyed to fly. His crowning achievement was being a tuba player.
He was a member of Masonic Lodge, rotary, the Frank Stull American Legion Post No. 152, and the United Methodist Church. He served his community on the city council and school board.
Survivors include son, Dennis (Judy) Miner, Shawnee; a daughter-in-law, Beth Miner, Ness City; four grandchildren, Allen (Carrie) Miner, Ann (Shawn) Gottfried, Andrea (Shannon) Washburn and Daniel Miner; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, William Miner.
A memorial service will be announced and held at a later date.
