Hanora Gertrude Homburg, 87, Ellis, died Thursday, April 16, 2020, at her daughter’s home in Ellis.
She was born Oct. 27, 1932, in Ellis to Clarence and Gertrude (Lynd) Shubert.
She married Arnold Homburg on June 19, 1965, in rural Ellis. He preceded her in death Nov. 2, 2002.
She was a farmer and stock woman. She was a hard worker on the farm and had a special photogenic memory and could match baby calves and their mommas without ear tags.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, rural Ellis, where she taught Sunday School and was a dedicated room mother for all three of her children. She was a member of the WELCA and HDU.
She enjoyed being a grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include two sons, Steve (Jeri) Homburg, Ellis and Tim (Mary Beth) Homburg, Overland Park; a daughter, Kathy Desaire, Ellis; her grandchildren, Danny and Kimberly Desaire, Hannah, Emma and Kara Homburg; her step-grandchildren, Korwin (Alicia) Wyatt, Ellis and Kasi (David) Wyatt-Smith, Olathe; her great-grandchildren, Parker and Briella Desaire, Ellis; and her step great-grandchildren, Aiden and Sera Wyatt, Ellis and Jude, Reese and Leo Smith, Olathe.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Clarence, Keith, Elivn and John; and a son-in-law, Bill Desaire.
A celebration of life service will be held and announced at a later date when the gathering restrictions due to the COVID-19 virus have been lifted.
