Richard Gail Hoar, 92, Stockton, died Saturday, May 16, 2020, at Redbud Village, Plainville.
He was born Sept. 1, 1927, in Woodston to Harold H. and Inda (Merriman) Hoar. He was a 1945 graduate of Woodston Rural High School.
He married Ila Belle Dibble on May 9, 1948, in Woodston. He retired as a rural mail carrier. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife of 72 years; four daughters, Diana Luhman, Colby, Brinda Hahn, Osborne, Anita Conger and Bonita Wagne, all of Stockton; a sister, Arlyne Hutton, Agra; 10 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Valeria Morrissey.
Graveside services were May 18 in Woodston Cemetery
There will be no public visitation.
Memorials are suggested to Woodston United Methodist Church or Stockton Food Pantry in care of the Plumer-Overlease, Stockton.
