Linda Diane (Brown) Ruder, 67, Hays, died Monday, May 18, 2020, at Hays Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 7, 1952, in Russell to Kenneth and Viola (Baum) Brown.
She married Stephen P. Ruder on Dec. 27, 1969, at the Plainville Catholic Church, recently celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. She was a medical assistant for Dr. Christine Kelly and a bookkeeper for her husband’s business.
She was a member of the “SOS” Sisters of Survivorship and Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Todd Ruder and wife, Shannon, Manhattan; a daughter, Melissa Schumacher and husband, Todd, Topeka; three brothers, Kenneth Brown and wife, Rhonda, Zurich, Blaine Brown and wife, Amy and Shayne Brown and wife, Tierra, all of Plainville; a sister, Barbara West and husband, Larry, Plainville; seven grandchildren, Cody (Taryn) , Seth (Kelley), Courtney, Hanna (Brandon), Connor, Blake and Abby; and three great- grandchildren, Brynlee, Lincoln and Hadley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Gregory Brown.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Hays. inurnment will follow the services in St Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Hays.
Memorial visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday with a combined vigil/rosary at 7 p.m., all at Brock’s-Keithley North Hill Chapel, 2509 Vine, Hays, KS 67601. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic if you aren’t feeling well, please use the online guest book to convey your condolences.
