Cynthia Ann Karlin, 75, Hays, died Saturday, June 13, 2020, at Hays Medical Center.


She was born April 8, 1945, in Abilene to Fred and Angela (Dreiling) Kisner. She married Gerald Karlin on May 8, 1965, in Hays. She was a homemaker and had worked at the Ellis County Courthouse in the Appraiser’s office, St. John’s Rest Home and Golden Belt Bank.


She was a member of the High Plains Baptist Church in Hays.


She enjoyed helping family and friends when needed, jigsaw puzzles, decorating during the Christmas Holiday season as well as seasonal decorating at the church. She especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting events.


Survivors include her husband, Hays; a son, Kevin Karlin and wife, Marti, Olathe; a daughter, Kelly Wasinger, Olathe; a brother, Jon Kisner, Hays; a sister, JaNell Newton, Wichita; her grandchildren, Kayla and Macy Karlin, Kaden, Kaylee Wasinger, Justin, Kelsey and Kyler Niernberger; two great-grandchildren, Kinley and Jace Niernberger; and a son-in-law, Darren Niernberger, Hays.


She was preceded in death by her parents; and a daughter, Kim Niernberger.


Services will be 10 a..m. Wednesday at High Plains Baptist Church, Hays; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays.


Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Brock’s-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601 and from 9 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the church.


Memorials are suggested to High Plains Baptist Church or HaysMed Hospice in care of the funeral chapel.
