Francis “Bones” W. Pieschl, 89, Hoxie, died Friday, June 12, 2020, at Gove County Medical Center.


He was born May 21, 1931, in Minneapolis, Kan., to Vincent and Olive (Wolfersperger) Pieschl.


He married Betty “Ruth” Pieschl on Jan. 9, 1973, in Ellsworth. He was self employed with a construction company. He was a U.S. Army veteran.


Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Larry Meurisse, Bella Vista, Ark., and Darvin Meurisse , Burlington, Colo.; a daughter, Marcia Kruse, Selden; three brothers, Vincent Pieschl Jr. and Richard Pieschl , both of Minneapolis and Devere Pieschl, Fairbank, Alaska; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.


Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Hoxie; burial in St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Cemetery with military rites conducted.


Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday with family receiving friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home, Hoxie.


A vigil will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.


Memorials are suggested to Sheridan County Benefit Walk in care of the funeral home.
