Jessica M. Walters-Bridges, 38, Hays, died Sunday, June 14, 2020 at Hays Medical Center.
She was born June 9, 1982, in Hays to Gerald and Marjorie (Rohr) Walters. She was a 2001 graduate of Hays High School.
She married Jonathan “John” Bridges on Sept. 6, 2008, in Hays. She worked at Goodwill, Hays Good Samaritan Society, Walmart, Fairfield Inn, and was a homemaker.
She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
She enjoyed dogs, cats, especially her dogs, Buddy and Billy, visiting with friends, going for walks, watching TV shows, and was a very gracious and kind person.
Survivors include her husband, of the home in Hays; her parents, Hays; her grandmother, Mildred Walters, Hays; three sisters, Jennifer Husselman and husband, Chris, Augusta, Jolene Wellbrock, Hays, and Janell Williams, Wichita; a sister-in-law, Cindy Walters, Hays; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Delbert Walters; her grandparents, Felix and Mary Rohr; two brothers, Curtis and Craig Walters; and a brother-in-law, Steve Wellbrock.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Thursday, both at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1906 Pine, Hays, KS 67601.
A vigil /rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, DSNWK, or Humane Society of the High Plains, in care of the funeral home.
