Mary Margaret (Koriel) Horton, 75, Salina, died Saturday, June 20, 2020.

She was born Nov. 14, 1944, in Hays to Albert and Josephine (Leggee) Koriel. She graduated from Fort Hays Nursing Program as a registered nurse. Later she received her master’s in social work from University of Kansas.

She married Forrest on Feb. 19, 1982, in Great Bend. She was a psychiatric nurse at Larned State Hospital. Later she worked until retirement with the Infant/Child Development Services associated with Salina Regional Hospital.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, pulling weeds and traveling. She enjoyed being the library lady for daycare children in Salina. She enjoyed working with children, civil and religious groups.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she was an active member of the United Methodist Women’s Group.

Survivors include her husband, of the home; from this union two families were combined; her other survivors include, Leslie Barrera and husband, Israel, Wichita, Amy Werth, and husband, Travis, Hays and Alison Rhodeman and husband, Christopher, Warrensburg, Mo.; a brother, John Koriel and wife, JoAnn, Rush Center; nine grandchildren, Noel, Nicholas, Ariel, Sebastian, Britny, Lakin, Britney, Krystal, Karissa; and four great grandchildren, Jacob, Jaxon, Lily, Nicholas.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church, Salina; burial will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in La Crosse Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, Salina.

Memorials are suggested to Tammy Walker Cancer Center, Infant Child Development (For the Hearing Impaired) or Trinity United Methodist Church, in care of the funeral home.
