Irene Dinkel , 90, Victoria, died Tuesday, June 23, 2020, at Via Christi Village Care Center, Hays.


She was born April 15, 1930, in Gorham to Joseph P. and Katherine (Schmidtberger) Dreiling. She grew up and attended school in Gorham.


She married Elmer J. Dinkel on Jan. 7, 1947, in Victoria. He preceded her in death Sept. 18, 2003.


She was a nurses aide and worked at St. John’s Rest Home in Victoria for over 25 years and a senior Companion for 15 years.


She was a member of The Basilica of St. Fidelis. She grew up and attended school in Gorham.


She enjoyed sewing, quilting, embroidering, crocheting, and did a lot of cooking.


Survivors include three sons, Ronald Dinkel and wife, Diane and Robert L. "Bob" Dinkel and wife, Connie, all of Victoria and Larry A. Dinkel and wife, Sandy, Hays; two daughters, Carol Lamoste, Troy, Mich., and Mari Rauch and Billy Rauch, Victoria; a sister, Norma Hammerschmidt- Durante, Medicine Lodge; a daughter-in-law, Linda Dinkel, Wichita; her former daughter-in-law, Eva Newell, Wichita; 14 grandchildren; a step-grandchild; 15 great-grandchildren; and three step-great- grandchildren


She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Wanda McInerney; a son, Steve Dinkel; a son-in-law, Rufino Lamoste; a great granddaughter; two brothers, Raymond J. Dreiling and wife, Doris and Richard V. Dreiling; two sisters, Eleanor Hammerschmidt and husband, Albert and Lidwina Hammersmith and husband, Herbert.


Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at The Basilica of St. Fidelis, Victoria; inurnment in St. Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria.


Family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Friday, at The Basilica.


Memorials are suggested to The Basilica of St. Fidelis or Via Christi Village-St John’s Chapel. Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary, 412 Main, Victoria, KS 67671, is in charge of arrangements.
