Irmina Juliana (Oswald) Dauber, 82, Bunker Hill, died Sunday, July 5, 2020 at her home.

Julie was born Sept. 2, 1937 in Hays to Lloyd J. and Irma (Hoff) Oswald.

Growing up she attended Blue Hill School in Ellis County and graduated from Natoma High School. She then attended Fort Hays State University, where she received a Bachelor of Science in 1959 and a Master’s Degree in 1967.

Julie was married to Joe Dauber Jr. He preceded her in death on Feb. 13, 2003.

Julie was a devoted teacher for over 35 years. She worked 11 years at Gorham High School as Business Education Instructor then transferred to Russell High School to teach business courses. She taught 12 years for Barton County Community College Outreach Program. Later she served 18 years as secretary and clerk of the Board of Education of USD 407.

Surviving family include her stepson, Todd Dauber of Garden City; step daughter, Trudy Line of Leawood; surrogate daughter, Melissa Ann Prosser of Oden; and seven step grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Bunker Hill Cemetery in Bunker Hill. The family has requested cremation so no visitation will be held. A memorial has been established with the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery Fund. Contributions and condolences may be sent to Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell, which is in charge of arrangements.
