Vernon L. Windholz, 85, Ellis, died Sunday, Sept. 27, 2020, at the Good Samaritan Society, Ellis.
He was born Oct. 20, 1934, in Ellis to Rudolph and Catherine (Beer) Windholz. He was a graduate of Ellis High School.
He married Bernice Poto. She preceded him in death. He was a cook most of his working life primarily at the Golden Ox for over 20 years. He was a U.S, Army Veteran serving in Korea.
He was a member of St. Mary Church and Ellis Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include a brother, Kenneth Windholz, Ellis; three sisters, Kathy Wolf and Goldie Dinkel, both of Ellis and Roseann Billinger, Hays; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, Rinda Linn Windholz.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 30, 2020 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Ellis; burial in the church cemetery with military honors courtesy of Ellis VFW Honor Guard.
Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. until time of service Sept. 30, 2020, at the church.
