Lonnie F. Morgan, 73, Hays, died Saturday, Oct. 3, 2020, at Hays Medical Center.
He was born July 31,1947, in La Crosse to Friend E. and Velma (Scheuerman) Morgan. He grew up in Alexander and was a 1965 graduate of Alexander High School and later attended Hutch Junior College on a basketball scholarship.
He married Therese M. Klaus on May 8, 1982, in Hays.
He owned and operated Morgan Appliance Service. He organized bus trips to Grand Island, Neb., for horse races for 36 years.
His hobbies included spending time with his sons and grandkids together with hunting, fishing, golfing, playing softball and bowling.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Steven Morgan and wife, Jolene and Heath Morgan and wife, Michelle, all of La Crosse; three brothers, Larry Morgan and Lance ‘Bub’ Morgan and wife, Gloria, all of Alexander and Layne Morgan and wife, Kerr, McCracken; two sisters, Leanne Russell and husband, Wade, St. John and Lorrie Frank and husband, Bill, Axtell; three grandchildren,Taylor, Hunter, and Madison; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, George and Eileen Klaus; and two sisters, Linda Bott and husband, Robert and LaRetta Fitzwater.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Oct. 6, 2020, at Brock’s Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601; burial in will be at 2 p.m. Oct. 6, 2020, in Alexander Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Oct. 6, 2020, at the funeral chapel.
