Rosetta Aschenbrenner, 75, Ellis, died Oct. 3, 2020, in Las Vegas.


She was born July 27, 1945, in Hays to Clarence and Lillian Schmidt in Hays. She attended Ellis High School. She married Robert Aschenbrenner on Nov. 25, 1961, in Ellis. He preceded her in death. She retired from Enersys in July 2019 after many years of employment.


She enjoyed spoiling her grandkids, playing bingo and rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs and KU basketball teams.


Survivors include four children, Rose (Jeff) Hertel, Ellis, Ricky Aschenbrenner, Wichita, Rhonda (Evan) Hadley, Hays; and Roy (Holly) Aschenbrenner, Ellis; her siblings, Harold (Myrtle) Schmidt, Opelousas, La., John (Twila) Schmidt, Tina (Dave) Keller,Kenny (Kim) Schmidt, all of Ellis and Marlene Schmidt, Stockton; eight grandchildren, Kim Robinson, David Bieker, Jessica Brazda, Kyle Hadley, Sarah Pletcher, Rebecca Bittel, Hannah Aschenbrenner and Hayden Aschenbrenner and six great-grandchildren are Hadlee, Jace and Jett Brazda, Emma Bieker, Camilla Robinson and Drake Pletcher.


She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Betty Barenberg and Darlene Schmidt.


Services will be at 2 p.m. Oct. 17, 2020 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Ellis; inurnment in St. Mary Cemetery.


Memorial visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. with a rosary service at 1:30 p.m., Oct. 17, 2020, all at the church.


Memorials are suggested to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary or St. Mary Church.
