Mary JoAnn Teeter, 86, Oakley, died Friday, July 24, 2020.
She was born July 12, 1934, near Monument to Ernie and Ruby (Jones) Fink. She attended Monument and Oakley schools, graduating in 1952.
She married Herbert Clovis Teeter in 1952. He preceded her in death. They lived in Memphis, Tenn., and Ardmore Okla., where he was stationed. When he went overseas, she moved back to Oakley. In 1955, they purchased a farm north of Oakley. She was always working, driving harvest trucks, cleaning homes, painting ceramics with her sister, Glennis, working as a school paraprofessional, church cleaning, mowing and rental house collecting.
She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Garden Club, PEO and numerous other organizations.
Survivors include a sister, Glennis Parsons; a daughter, Tracee Teeter, and husband, Randy Swart; and a host of other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Tammy Teeter, and a grandson, Morgan.
Services will take place at a later date.
Memorials are suggested to United Methodist Church and The Kansas Honor Flight in care of Baalmann Mortuary, Oakley.
