Leland G. “Jack” Harwood, 76, Hays, died Saturday, Aug. 8, 2020, at Hays Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 31, 1943, in Naponee, Neb., to Wayne and Ella (Bedore) Harwood. He attended Hays High and earned a bachelor of business administration from Northwood University in Midland, Mich..
He married Kerry Pfannenstiel on April 12, 1977, in Hays. He was a retired U.S. Army MSG.
He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Hays.
Survivors his wife, Hays; a daughter, Katara Harwood, Colorado; two brothers, Jay Harwood, Grand Junction, Colo., and Keith Harwood, Great Bend.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Gordon Harwood and Chester Delaine Harwood; a sister, Carol M. Binder; three nephews, Dale Leon Harwood, William Howard McCullough and Roy Chester Binder; and in-laws, Francis N. and Rita M. Pfannenstiel.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Hays; inurnment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays. Military honors courtesy of the Hays Veterans of Foreign Wars Honor Guard will take place at the church following services.
A rosary will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.
