Marjorie Lynn Malara-Mueller, 71, Hays, died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2020, at Hays Medical Center, Hays.
She was born Aug.11, 1949, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Elia J. and Marjorie (George) Malara. She grew up in Brooklyn was a 1967 graduate of Bay Ridge High School and attended Pace University in Manhattan, N.Y.
She married Franklin Mueller in 1967. She was a physician’s assistant for a number of years and an elementary educator in New York. She and her husband lived in Port Richey, Fla., for a few years and they moved to Hays in 2001.
She was past president of The Friends of the Hays Public Library, she participated in the Prairie Garden Club, the Herb Study Guild and Masters Gardeners.
She enjoyed her friends, family, her pets, one chorkie and two puggles.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; a daughter, Sandra Mueller-Aldrich, Hays; a brother, Gerald Malara, Hays; a sister-in-law, Kathleen Malara, New Jersey; two granddaughters, Briana Aldrich, Wichita and Alex Aldrich, Hays; seven nephews and nieces; four grandnephews and grandnieces; and a former son-in-law, Troy Aldrich, La Crosse.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Elia George Malara and Charlie Malara.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date due to the COVID-19 restrictions. A private family inurnment will be in St. John Cemetery, Middle Village, N.Y.
