Muriel Louise (Campbell) Walters , 75, Las Vegas, died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2020, at her home in Las Vegas.
She was born June 24, 1945, in Hays to Rex and Christine Riedel Campbell. She was a 1963 graduate of Marian High School and a 1967 graduate of Fort Hays State University.
She married Arlen Walters on July 18, 1964. They spent much of their 56 years of marriage in Lawrence until their move to Las Vegas to be near their family. In Lawrence she worked for several years as a speech pathologist for the school district.
Among her favorite activities were being a grandmother to her granddaughters, traveling, and home decorating. They traveled the world together and shared adventures with family and friends from cruises and exotic explorations. She enjoyed entertaining her many family members and friends. She gave her time and energy to make life better for them. She was especially devoted to her husband.
Survivors include her husband, Las Vegas; a son, Craig Walters and wife, Deneen, Las Vegas; a sister, Patricia Byram, Springfield, Mo.; two granddaughters, Megan and Abby Walters, Salt Lake City, UT; her nephews, Steve and David Brock and Dan Byram and their families in Missouri; her in-law siblings; classmates in the Class of 63 of Thomas More Prep-Marian High School; extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
With cremation there will be no service. Close family gathered for a private celebration of her life at the home of her son.
