Terrence "Terry" Staab

Terrence “Terry” Staab, Hays, died Friday, Sept. 18, 2020.

He was born Feb. 2, 1945, in Hays to Joseph and Rose Staab. He attended school at St. Joseph Military Academy in Hays.

He married Betty Staab in 1965. They enjoyed traveling together and having get togethers with friends and family. Together they eventually made Wichita their home. He worked at quite a few jobs in his life but his most notable was Moore Business Forms in Wichita.  He became nationally recognized as their top salesman.  He later transferred his family to Dallas area with Moore in 1979. He eventually left his sales job and worked with other different companies over the years. He eventually landed in San Diego and managed a restaurant for a number of years. One of his last jobs, was with a company that he started himself. He opened a residential treatment center for teens on the beaches of Mexico along with his two sons, Eric and Neal Staab.

Survivors include three sons, Eric Staab, Arlington, Texas, Mark Staab, Hays and Neal Staab and wife, Melissa, Coppell, Texas; a daughter, Lisa Staab, Hays; eight grandchildren, Ryan, Jacob,  Landon, Madison, Reagan, Andrew, James, and Emery; two sisters, Nancy Schmidtberger and husband, Marvin, Pratt, and Grace McGinnis, Hays; his numerous nieces ,nephews, and cousins; multiple lifelong friends; his former spouse and mother of his children, Betty Staab; and former spouse of Mark Staab, Cathy Klimka Staab.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother-in-law, Darrell McGinnis.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

A combined rosary/vigil will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to Salvation Army in Hays.
