Howard W. Linenberger, 84, Parker, Colo., died Sunday, Oct. 4, 2020, at his home.
He was born Jan. 1, 1936, in Benkelman, Neb., to Alfred and Angela (Reiman) Linenberger.
He married Shirley Befort on Jan. 28, 1956 and they celebrated 64 years of marriage. In 1961, he moved to Denver where he owned his own business, Denver Reconditioning. He later worked for Ford Truck Sales as the body shop foreman. From 1953 to 1956, he served in the Army National Guard.
Survivors include his wife, of the home in Parker; a son, Howard W. Linenberger, Jr., and wife, Jeannie, Post Falls, Idaho; a daughter, Sharon Christy and husband, Rob, Elizabeth, Colo.; his twin brother, Harold Linenberger, Hays; four grandchildren, Vanessa Strouse and husband, Rick, Amanda Zoller, Christina McElwain and husband, Tony, and Mark Zoller, Jr. and fiancé, Alyssa; and nine great-grandchildren, Sammy Linenberger, Daniel Strouse, Emma Zoller, Hunter Zoller, Zakery McElwain, Athena McElwain, Mark Zoller III, Garrett Zoller, and Ryker Zoller.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Alfred “Berdal” Linenberger.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Basilica of St. Fidelis, Victoria; burial in St. Fidelis Cemetery with military honors by Hays Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9076 Honor Guard.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1906 Pine, Hays. KS 67601 and from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at the Basilica.
A vigil will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Cancer Council of Ellis County.
