Thomas Kinderknecht, 77, Hays, died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2020, at Good Samaritan Society, Hays.
He was born May 24, 194,3 in Kansas City, Kan., to Joseph and Mary (Miller) Kinderknecht. He was a 1961 graduate of from Ellis High School.
He married Charlene Klaus on Aug. 8, 1964. He was a sanitation worker for the City of Ellis.
He enjoyed playing pinochle, bowling, scrapping and junking, family BBQ’s and collecting Coors memorabilia.
He was a member of St. Mary Church, Ellis.
Survivors include his wife, Hays; a son, Dennis Kinderknecht, Hays; two daughters, Jackie Lee (Oliver) and Michelle Windholz (Matthew), all of Ellis; a half-brother, Joe Day, Ellis; a half-sister, Kris Bollig, Hays; five grandchildren, T.J. Lee, Mary Willmes, Christopher Lee, Joseph Kinderknecht and Kathleen Windholz; and five great-grandchildren, Hunter Willmes, Arien Willmes, Autumn Willmes, Elijah Lee and Jayden Alvis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Margaret Smith and Adeline day; and a half brother, Leonard Day.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Brock's-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Cremator,y 2509 Vine, Hays, KS 67601; inurnment will be at a later date in St. Mary Cemetery, Ellis.
Memorials are suggested to the ARC Thrift Shop or HaysMed Hospice in care of the funeral chapel.
