Paul F. Kaus, 60, Salina, died Monday, Oct. 19, 2020.
He was born March 10. 1960, in Hoxie to Frederick J. and Helen (Zerr) Kaus.
He married Christine L. Pechanec on Aug. 31, 1985 in Timken. He was a 1978 graduate of Golden Plains High School, Rexford, and received his associate of science radiologic technology degree from Fort Hays State University in 1982.
He was passionate for animals. He and his family raised all sorts of animals on a farm north of Salina. He was very proud to have had one of his llamas go to the petting zoo at Rolling Hills Zoo.
He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and being adventurous outdoors, he never missed one of his children’s activities and all their achievements. His greatest accomplishments was being a husband, dad, grandpa and being able to play and read books to his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Trenton Kaus and wife, Haley, Manhattan, and Tyler Kaus and wife, Lenae, Wichita; a daughter, Kaylene Bacon and husband, Cody, Minneapolis; his mother, Colby; three brothers, Michael Kaus, Bison, Ron Kaus and wife, Charlene, Colby and Kenneth Kaus and wife, Marion, Fredericksburg, Va.; two sisters, Dona Kulhanek and husband, Short, Colby, and Susan Hillebrand and husband, Gary, Norton; and five grandchildren, Mallorie, Rylan, Cordell, Canter, and Caroline.
He was preceded in death by his father; and a sister in law, Lora Kaus.
A private family rosary will be at 10:15 a.m. Friday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton; followed by a private family Mass at 10:30 a.m.; burial in All Saints Catholic Cemetery, Salina, where everyone is welcome.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ryan Mortuary, Salina.
Memorials are suggested to Rolling Hills Zoo in care of the mortuary.
