Roland D. Kesler, 93, died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2020, at Gove County Medical Center, Quinter.
He was born Feb. 4, 1927, southwest of Quinter to Walter Benjamin and Ruth Marie (Miller) Kesler. He was a 1944 graduate of Quinter High School.
He married Valetta Mae Folkers on Feb. 24, 1952. He was postmaster of Quinter Post Office in 1959 and served to 1987. He was a U.S. Navy veteran for the duration of the war.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Daryl, WaKeeney, Rex, Houston, Gary Ottawa, and Lynn, St. Cloud, Fla.; two sisters, Doris Metzler, Bridgewater, Va., and Carol Hess, Fort Wayne, Ind.; his grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and his step-grandchildren.
Services will take place at a later date. Cremation was chosen.
Memorials are suggested to Quinter Church of The Brethren or Quinter Senior Citizen’s Center in care of the Schmitt Funeral Home, Quinter.
