Mary Christine Henderson, 66, formerly of Ellis, died Sunday, Oct. 25, 2020, at her home in Salina.
She was born Dec. 20, 1953, in Hays to Francis A. and Armella (Braun) Wiesner. She was a 1971 graduate of Marian High School.
She started working as a waitress at the family’s restaurant, City Café, in Ellis. She later worked at the WaKeeney Hospital before moving to Salina, where she returned to waitressing at the Red Coach Inn. She worked in private home care, and her last, most favorite job of all was taking care of her grandkids. She was devoted to her family and grandkids.
Survivors include a brother, Leon Wiesner and wife, Rhonda, Evans, Colo.; three sisters, Joyce Wiesner, Topeka, Barbara Schuster and husband, LaVerne, Russell, and Janet Wahrman and husband, Alan, Hays; nine grandchildren, J.C., Mason and Jenna Henderson, Salina, Dani and Emily Henderson, Waynesboro, Miss., Hunter and Alexis Rogers, Aiden Stokes and Kaylie Hickman, Salina; her nieces, Starla Hickman (AJ), Salina, Amanda Schuster, Colorado, Stephanie Wiesner, Katie Upchurch, and Kelly Frank, Colorado and her nephews, Chad Schuster, Great Bend, Brad Schuster, Salina, and Scott Henry, Garden City.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Armella Wiesner in Mar. 25, 2015; her father, Francis A. Wiesner, Aug. 13, 1974; a sister, Michelle Marie Wiesner, Feb. 26, 1986; and two brothers, Steven F. Wiesner, Dec. 21, 2008, and Kenneth F. Wiesner, Sept. 23, 2010.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Salina; burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Ellis.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ryan Mortuary, Salina.
A rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, The Arthritis Foundation, or St. Mary Cemetery, Ellis, in care of the mortuary.
