Eva Loree Holaday, 94, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 2020, at Gove County Medical Center Long Term Care, Quinter.
She was born Sept. 28, 1926, in Sheridan County just north of the Saline River, to George Earl and Mary (Hargitt) Maxwell. She graduated from Quinter High School and Fort Hays State University.
She married Raymond Holaday on August 13, 1959. He preceded her in death April 5, 2001. She was an elementary teacher for 13 years.
Survivors include four sons, Richard Holaday, Oakley, James Holaday, and Raymond Holaday, both of Grinnell, and Thomas Holaday, Garfield; a daughter, Doris Sullivan, Memphis; two brothers, Gordon Maxwell, Salina and Laverne Maxwell, Quinter; two sisters, Anita Bray Hawthorne, Nev., and Luella Hadland, Dawson Creek, BC; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two on the way.
Due to the current pandemic, a private immediate family graveside service will be observed in Grinnell Township Cemetery.
A celebration of life will be determined at a convenient date in the future yet to be announced.
Memorials are suggested to Grinnell United Methodist Church or Gove County Medical Center Long Term Care, in care of Schmitt Funeral Home, Quinter.
