Laverne “Duffer” E. Mauck, 95, Hoxie, died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2020, at his home.
He was born Aug. 6, 1925, in rural Sheridan County to Henry and Emma (Trueblood) Mauck. He was a 1943 graduate of Sheridan County Community High School.
He married JoAnn (Coulter) Mauck on Aug. 22, 1950. She preceded him in death. He was a U.S. Army veteran during World War II. Survivors include two sons, Rex Mauck Longwood, Fla., and Roger Mauck, Hoxie; two daughters, Brena Mauck, Hays, and Karen Billinger, Dodge City; a sister, Elaine Kramer, Kansas City, Kan.; eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by a son, Rodney Mauck; a granddaughter; and a great-grandson.A private family service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home, Hoxie; a private family burial will take place in Hoxie City Cemetery.
